I started at the piano as a kid in St. Louis, then picked up guitar, bass and drums. Songwriting at the piano is still home base.

I grew up in a strict Baptist world where the music was narrow and the certainty was total. At eighteen, on my own for the first time, that cracked open — jazz, trap, EDM, everything I had written off. I started making beats in Ableton on a dorm floor. As I put it: I didn't allow myself to start figuring myself out until I was already eighteen.

In 2022 I bought an RV, built a full recording studio inside it, and drove it from St. Louis to Los Angeles with my fiancée Alyssa. I've been here since. The RV is gone; the plan to build a smaller one and take it up the West Coast is not.

In between, I spent a few years making music inside crypto as Doctor Preballin — building an audience from zero, anonymously, and making AI music videos as early as January 2024, before that was a category. It worked, and it was all pointed at other people's projects. I build software for independent artists too: Autolabel, an AI label, came out of needing it myself.

I'm a producer and multi-instrumentalist who spent five years proving I could build audiences, products and money for everything except my own name — and I've just turned all of it around to point at me.
